01 - Who Is Who?

Script:

Piploum

Can you imagine that? The God of gods, who created everything, is brushing his teeth! Anyway, can you please tell me why you are brushing your teeth ? You are not going to have cavities, are you ?

God

I like having good breath. Come here and smell Piplum! Don’t you think I’ve got such divine breath?

Piploum

Wow! You’re definitly not like the way human beings picture you.

God

So, Piplum, who do they say I am?

Piploum

Some see you as a wizened grandpa, with a long white beard…

Old God

What are you saying?

Piploum

Yes, exactly, completely gaga!

Old God

Where is the garlic?

Piploum

No, gaga, not garlic!

Old God

Did they lose the garlic?

Piploum

Going completely gaga, which is very useful to help you cope with most of the praises of your faithful…

Old God

Oh Oh Oh! There’s a storm on Earth.

Piploum

And so, as they wanted you to hear them, they found lots of substitutes.

Old God

Brother Jones, Brother Jones, pray for us…

Piploum

Ok Ok, but all humans don’t see you that way.

Old God

Well, I would have been surprised.

Piploum

Others see you as an authoritarian, pitiless and very demanding god.

Tyranic God

Ok, now let’s have a game of Simon says. Except I will be Simon. So… Simon says: “Say your prayer on a goat’s back.”

Piploum

Hey, somebody is doing it!

Tyranic God

Even better, Simon says:”Recite your prayer 50 times, hands in the back and without breathing.”

Piploum

Oh, a smurf!

Tyranic God

Now take a bomb and blow yourself up. I hadn’t said “Simon says”! Miserable mortal! Ahahahahaha…

Piploum

Hum…

Tyranic God

Others still, think you are a softer god, that blends in with nature and perpetrates itself through the cycle of life.

Piploum

Heu…heu-heu…D’autres pensent que tu es un dieu plus doux, qui se fond avec la nature et qui se perpétue par le cycle de la vie.

The Thing

The cycle of life is coming to an end. The whole Earth is in decline. More and more animal and plant species. More and more species are clearing off. And tomorow it will be your turn, and then mine, and then ours… Nothing left !

Piploum

I had never realised that in this story, you disappeared too in the end. Or that you became a nebula, sucked up by a gigantic black hole.

God

Then Piplum, which one of these three versions do you prefer?

Piploum

I prefer by far the original version. And you, how do you define yourself?

God

Me? But I am who I am!

Piploum

But nobody gives a damn about that.

God

Well, yes, one more day…
