Working is good for health. Not working keep you healthy. Between this two choices, I don’t know what to do. But I still need to eat, drink and watch tv. Unless… Don’t miss the new show of ‘One More Day’.

Piploum

What’s he doing?

God

He’s finishing off his coffee and putting on his coat…

Piploum

And now?

God

He’s getting into his car and putting on the radio. Mmmm, he’s not 100% awake…

Piploum

I can see that… And now, what’s he doing?

God

He’ s turning off the engin and going to his office. He starts work.

Piploum

OK, we’ll come back to Bob later, let’s have a look at…

God

José !

Piploum

Yeah ! of course

God

Oh, he’s having trouble waking up. But sudenly, he thinks of all the poor people heading off to work…and this thought cheers him up and he decides to stay in bed a bit longer.

Piploum

Ok, let’s look at…

God

No, he’s going to change his mind. He’s got a day off thanks to all the over-time he’s put in and he’s not going to waste it.

Piploum

Oh good! Jose’s getting up. What’s he going to do?

God

He’s going to make the most of the morning and do a bit of shopping so he can do some DIY. Ah, at last! It’s Bob’s coffee break. He’ll be able to catch up on the latest gossip.

Piploum

Hey…

God

And then he’s going to talk about what was on TV last night. Basically, he’s got to make the most of the break.

Piploum

Hey! Jose has just finished his shopping.

God

he’s going to make his make home and make the most of the time alone without his wife and children to do what he likes…

Piploum

And what does he like?

God

Hum-hum, Let’s go back to Bob. He’s going to take a shorter lunch break so that he can get home earlier. It’s not that he doesn’t like his job, but there’s more to life than work…

Piploum

Why? What’s he going to do when he gets back? Does he have a family too?

God

Oh yes, he has a family. But tonight everybody is tired and there’s nothing like watching a good football match on the TV. After that Bod’s going to make the most of his remaining energy and go for a jog. Apparently it’s quite a healthy thing to do.

Piploum

Hey, I think that Jose’s wife has just got back…

God

Oh! Things are going to get interesting! She’s been at work all day - their standard of living means she has too - and he could have at least done a bit more housework…

Piploum

Oh yes! I can see things are getting heated! The kids have got back from school

God

Humpf! They’re kids that think that if they’ve got a bedroom, a friend to chat with by text and a computer the rest can…

Piploum

But it can’t be nice to hear these sorts of scenes everyday…

God

Well, they’ve got used to it. Anyway, their parents are idiots and the kids know everything. Hmm, but maybe not the answers to his maths homework. He’s going to have problems there…he won’t be having an early night…

Piploum

We’ve come across two families where it’s every man for himself!

God

Well wait a minute, Bob’s going to announce to his family during dinner that they are going to the Bahamas for 2 weeks. Isn’t that great?

Piploum

Well yes, that seems to motivate them. 2 weeks on a family holiday compared to 50 where every man …

God

That’s more than enough.

Piploum

Humains are stupid! Congratulations! You know exactly what everybody is doing and still manage to do other things at the same time… I already knew you could, but it was good to see the proof.

God

Yeah…but I cheated a bit…

Piploum

Oh! But that’s impossible for you! I don’t understand…

God

well, you know what…humain beings have always had the same priorities, the same reactions, the same desires from the beginning of time…

Piploum

Have enough money to eat and to enjoy themselves. Is that not just part of their basic needs?

God

No! These are the ‘needs’ that they have created for themselves by choosing to organise society like they have. I had a completely different idea for them. At the beginning, it was me who was supposed to look after them…

Piploum

Oh! But they’ll tell you that if you want a job doing well you’d better do it yourself…

God

Ah yes. One more day…
